We have accomplished the questionnaire surveillance of medical and public health coordinators in prefectures in Japan. In collaboration with Japanese Association in Disaster Medicine, we are working on the establishment of one-stop information center including manuals. We established an action-oriented business continuity plan in Tohoku University. A questionnaire surveillance was also performed about help receiving plans in the hospitals in the affected area. We are planning to establish digital archive of medical records in the evacuation shelters. 　We investigated the damage of Typhoon Haiyan on health related facilities. Prof. Egawa presented the lessens learned in Great East Japan Earthquake and mad suggestions to the reconstruction of medical networks in Philippines. 　We hosted the International Symposium on Disaster Medical and Public Health Management: Review of Hyogo Framework for Action, in Washington DC. 　Our research field extends to the utilization of robots in search and rescue in collaboration with Texas A&M University and simulations for the effective medical logistics and health reliefs in the integrated geospatial information technologies. 　We regard the education and training as essential component of disaster risk reduction. We have classes in Global Security Course in Leading Graduate School and Human Security Course. We are strengthening the medical network through seminars for medical and public health coordinators,  seminars of medical mentors for residents. We provide the opportunity to post-graduate students to join Training of Trainers for Sphere Project and Seminars for Medical Logistics.
