We provide quick response to patients with respiratory diseases, such as pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and bronchial asthma. Our department also plays a central role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea syndrome and interstitial pneumonia. In our research, we are putting special attention on the pathophysiology of COPD and disorders of pulmonary circulation associated with chronic respiratory failure, and are aiming to elucidate the pathogenesis and to find new therapies for these diseases.
